Air Jordan IV Infrared Retro

To kick off the new year in 2010, Air Jordan will release one of its most sought after models of all time, the Air Jordan VI Infrared. The weapon of choice as Jordan and the Bulls captured MJ’s first of many championship titiles, the shoe’s only previous retro was in 2000. With the January, 2010 release date comes a suggested retail price of $150 USD.

G-Shock

In the midst of a large scale global tour, the following will release out of the CASIO G-SHOCK camp for 2009 July. A number of releases revolve around their iconic offerings, the square-shaped DW-5600 and round-dial DW-6900. Another addition includes the more contemporary stylings of the G-8100. All in all, it’s nice to see some more colorful releases as these have traditionally been restricted to collaboration models. Look fro these at select CASIO G-SHOCK retailers in July.

Drake Signs to Young Money

MTV: Reports
Mixtapes are a movement. For some, giving away music could mean much more than trying to sell their tunes — but Drake played the game right. He started giving away his mixtape So Far Gone earlier this year, and the word of mouth spread with fans, his peers and record-company executives: a recent New York concert found [Warner Music exec] Lyor Cohen in the crowd, standing among screaming fans, along with Kanye West and Talib Kweli.

Well, the wait is over: After weeks of speculation, Drake has chosen to go with the home team and sign with Lil Wayne's Young Money Records, according to a source close to the situation. The deal breaks down as a joint venture between Young Money and Cash Money, with Universal Republic distributing. Drake's management was adamant that he should be viewed as an independent artist, although Universal will distribute the project.

"Today is a definitely a comfortable day for me, having my team now that's been in place for a couple of years. It's just a great day," Drake told MTV News recently in New York. "It's something new, but it feels familiar."

Drizzy is excited about having a corporate push to help with the momentum he's gained independently.

"Independent is a funny term," he told MTV News on the set of his video for "Best I Ever Had." "I can go independent, but you need distribution, period. You need somebody to distribute your record and you need that army that a label has to really push the record."

So Far Gone became this year's most talked-about mixtape because, in effect, Drake combines the best of both worlds by being a strong singer and rapper. His singing talent is prominent on the tracks "HoustonAtlantaVegas," "Little Bit" and "A Night Off"; his rapping on songs like "Uptown" and "Ignorant Sh--" is as sharp as a broken bottle in a barroom brawl. He rhymes are just as strong: "The game needs change and I'm the muthaf----n' cashier" (from "Successful"); "Account's in the minus, yet I'm rolling round the f---ing city like your highness" ("Say What's Real").

His popularity has gotten so strong that Drake performed — along with Weezy and the Young Money crew — in a prime slot at the BET Awards on Sunday night.

Drake's official debut LP, Thank Me Later, is currently in production and due later this year, with Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z listed as possible collaborators. This summer, look for Drake on tour with Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy and Soulja Boy Tell'em as part of the Young Money Presents: America's Most Wanted Music Festival.

Leroy Smith

After crashing onto the scene with his one man Basketball Hall of Fame campaign, the infamous Leroy Smith, also known as the man who motivated Michael Jordan, is back with a new collection of t-shirts and wallpapers for your desktop. Everybody loves Leroy, so why shouldn’t he make some money off of it. There will be four t-shirt designs hitting select stores in limited quantities, and if you’re not able to track them down, at least you can go over to GetYourBasketballOn.Com to download a bunch of free Leroy Smith wallpapers. You can take a look at the hilarious “motivational” t-shirts after the jump and you’ll find the t-shirts at MajorDC and a few other chosen retailers. These are very limited, so you better “get motivized” if you want to get your hands on some Leroy Smith gear before it’s gone.

Showdown in Chinatown

Following the U.S. victory over Spain yesterday afternoon, Steve Nash’s 2nd Annual Showdown in Chinatown went down in New York’s Lower East Side last night. The free charity soccer match, featuring NBA stars and international soccer greats, created quite a buzz last year and was further publicized by a viral video this year. Despite the intermittent downpour, a very respectable crowd turned up to see the likes of Nash, Tony Parker, Chris Bosh, Grant Hill, Thierry Henry, Claudio Reyna, Adrian Mutu, Javier Zanetti, Salomon Kalou, Edgar Davids, and several other soccer stars in what promised to be an entertaining matchup between the eight-man sides (Nash and Hill on one team, Parker and Bosh on the other; soccer stars split as well).

Thankfully, the weather remained clear for the duration of the match and the intimate yet accessible outdoor venue ensured that everyone had a good time. The seasoned footballers played to the crowd, showboating in the spirit of streetball, while the NBA stars got a healthy share of touches as well. Nash and Parker certainly held their own, but it was Bosh who turned out to be the fan favorite, if only because he seemed completely out of his element– spectators catcalled as he faced off with Hill and invited him to join the Knicks for the coming NBA season.

NYPost.com posted their video coverage on Youtube, including a handful of Bosh highlights. Expect more footage to go online shortly, as well as a special on Fox Soccer Channel.

Nash is also bringing his A-game to the inaugural Showdown in Vancouver on September 19th.

Insane: Press Play

shouts out to Killa, for this

Rolex Submariner

Rolex Submariner, it's built with quality, super tough, and waterproof. Nigo recently showed off his Rolex Submariner in a super-fresh blue(drools) on his blog. A very sexy timepiece indeed, the Submariner is waterproof up to 300 meters/1,000 feet underwater, and has a uni-directional bezel to keep track of time spent and has a self-winding movement. When I was just looking for a watch, I mean lets keep it real a Rolex to replace my Gshock. Ooow. Thats a fact, I need a Rolly.

Yellow Lobster SB

Concepts actually followed through with their mention of various different colored Lobster Dunk SB’s. This specific pair was spotted during the release yesterday, on the feet on Concepts owner Tarek Hassan. Rumors have been circulating that only 36 pairs were made, with various pairs being randomly given to customers in line.

Best I Ever Had Video/ Drake

Reportedly, Kanye directed the video. From the pictures on Ms.Info's page it looks to be a high school theme. Its some intresting tweets going on too. Nicki Minaj is going to be in the video, maybe her first video performace. And for some reason I think this is going to be a big video. Just with Kany West directing it and how big this song has become

Joell Ortiz- Free Agent Doc

Brooklyn Bred MC Joell Ortiz has created a buzz for himself on the radio, the internet, and most importantly the streets. Introduced into the game as Quick, Joell's talent and hunger were apparent to anyone he came across. Armed with a relentless work ethic and incredible lyrical abilities, Joell rhymed his way through the industry and into the offices of Aftermath Records, where Dr. Dre signed the young Latino rapper and added him to the team. Due to an unfortunate lack of support from the label, Ortiz pushed for his release from Aftermath and has currently become hip-hop's most valuable Free Agent. After making the choice to team up with the filmmakers from The ICU, Joell looks to give his fans and followers an in depth look into not only who he is, but into his family, his music, and is career. Look out for this film at upcoming festivals this fall.

For My Shorty (Mixtape)

Genesis - the beginning of it all. I was a kid with big dreams. I met Troy Taylor (My Producer/Mentor/Founder of Songbook Ent)
At the age of 15. He lived in Jersey while I was a high school student living in Virginia. We kept contact throughout the school year & I'd come to Jersey for whatever school breaks we had AND the summers to hone what had now become my craft. While I loved music, like anybody does, making music was new to me. You will hear the Immaturity and youth in my voice, you'll hear me learning how to record. This is Trey Songz PRE - Gotta Make It. Most of the songs you will hear were recorded in a basement in Teaneck, New Jersey. I slept on a fouton, I woke up to loud music and was made to think of melodies & concepts before I washed my face or brushed my teeth. I could make 10 bucks stretch for 2 weeks because I'd rather not burden my mother. I drove a 88 Honda Accord that had 2 different color doors with no radio back and forth from VA (or Baltimore) to Jersey. This is only one chapter of my story, you'll learn more as we grow together. I want my fans to know my musical path, know the work I put in and see my growth. Know that ANYTHING is possible. If u believe in YOU like no one else could ever have a work ethic to match and u cannot be stopped. With that being said...I give you GENESIS.

24 23 Young Jeezy

Just when we we all thought the beef was over, Young Jeezy takes his shots at Gucci Mane, and Oj Juiceman. I like both of them, well all three. But Lyrically I dont think neither Gucci or Juiceman can mess with Jeezy. I mean come on. Sheesh. This will be one of the best battles of the summer, matter fact the year. I am waiting on Gucci response, but we shall see...

Ego- Beyonce feat Kanye West

Kanye, killed his verse. I like what that they did with the song. Its crazy I remember when I first download this song. SHEESH, been bumping ever since. I got a big ego!

Maybelline, Mac, Blistex; Lessons in Love

Prequel; So let me confess, about all the broken hearts I collected. I dealt with mostly every kind of women, so I am going to testify. They all seem to come in my life at the same time, three women all in different phase of their lives, all meet up with me when I was least focused on the job ahead of me. Didn’t believe in love until after all three walked out of my life.

Maybelline:

She was about 10 years older than me, to this day I don’t know how we meet, I just remember crossing paths. When we first hooked up, she knew she was older than by my maturity. For some reason I think she stuck around for that exact reason. She was almost 30; she was the oldest of all her brother and sisters, told me she was forced to grow up early. She understood I was young, at the time I had just got out of high school. What Maybelline and me shared, was more than a relationship. She played as my mentor; told me what to look for in a women; she knew we could never be together just because of our age. But you couldn’t tell me that, I was obsessed with her beauty and her knowledge. She had a hard life, she told me she had no chance to have children of her own; and that was the reason the man of her dreams had left. She was 30 years old, and could have a family of her own; I was depressed for her when she told me that. No need to front we shared more than a couple nights together, I loved her sexuality and she loved my energy. I was a student in love, and she was teaching me everything I needed to know about a young lady; how to treat them and what to give and what not. Still asking myself does age equate wisdom? The only time Maybelline felt young, is when she looked in my eyes. She set me down and told me if I was in her life she doesn’t know what she would be living for.

Mac:

Oh, Mac. Every night was a headache with her. All the arguing and bickering to this day I can’t tell you about what. I was a couple months older than her, should have knew I was going to have a problem with her when she told me she was a Leo. Makes since, she acted like she ran the show from day one. All she ever wanted to do was party and bullshit; she had balls telling me about all the dudes she bagged. I wasn’t impressed about her actions but by her confidence. She thought she was the best thing since slice bread, walking around the mall with her was the worst. She use to show out when I seen some girl I knew. She had a problem with any girl I was giving attention too, other than her. She made it know, I was lucky to be in presence. Every time we kicked I felt that she was covering something ugly inside, hiding the flaws but she made her so called “perfections” know to the public. When her and me finally over, I found out about the ugly truth. Mac was abused and raped by her step pops, not to say her actions reflected it; but she was chasing love from a man. I was trying to give it to her the whole time, but because of her past she seen all men as evil. I don’t blame her; I just wish her the best. We still keep in contact, she is known to go off on a tantrum, but that’s when I lose interest and stop trying to help her. Mac was nothing but a young lady that was faced to grow up early, not because she wanted to but because the world made her. A man hurt her before I ever was in the picture.

Blistex:

She was two years younger than me when first linked up. I just thought we were going to be friends, but this young lady had a little bit more in mind. She took her chance as soon as she had me alone. The whole time, I am asking her why don’t you talk t someone your own age. And every time, “none of those boys have anything for me”. If you meet her today she will tell you I was the first one to ever break her heart. I loved her, but I never told her I was in love with her. I left for college, and she couldn’t take it. First couples of weeks of school my entire phone calls were from her and my mother. She was a little bit more pressed than anyone else. I took her virginity, I was thinking in the moment and not for the future. She missed me and but I was too busy enjoying college and the life that comes with that. She stuck on me, and I am worried about everything that but her. By time Thanksgiving came around, she had cut my face out every picture and deletes my number from her phone. She said when she seen me driving she almost vomited in her mouth. Obliviously its my fault, I said the right things at the wrong time. Now she is all messed up in the game, thinking that niggas aint shit. But like I told her don’t take your feelings out on he next guy. I can only blame myself on why she looks at the world and love the way she does. I lead her on, as if it could just be her, knowing that she had no chance and me. Her silly crushed evolve into what she thought was love. And all I can say is sorry, no matter what I do you will never get your cherry back.
