Nike V. Marcus Jordan. V. Addias

The legendary NBA star, Michael Jordan’s son, Marcus Jordan, had announced that he will only be wearing his father’s Air Jordan’s instead of the sponsored adidas kicks. As Marcus Jordan’s school, University of Central Florida, is in its final year of the five-year contract with adidas, this issue becomes a sensitive topic in terms of contract renewal, which was previously estimated to be a three-million dollar deal. As a result of Marcus’ Jordan’s refusal to sport the full adidas sponsored gear which was stated necessary in the sponsorship contract, adidas decided to drop future sponsorship with UCF. According to an email from adidas spokesperson, Andrea Corso, to the Associated Press, “The University of Central Florida has chosen not to deliver on their contractual commitment to adidas…As a result we have chosen not to continue our relationship with them moving forward”. Regardless of family loyalty and justifications on both sides, the result is that all sports teams from UCF are affected by this controversy.

W.N.I.K.E

Sir Charles Barkley is the hilarious glue that holds TNT’s NBA studio shows together.  Gary Payton and Chris Webber are easily the two best reasons to tune into NBA TV (aside from obscure first-round playoff games, of course).  Webber sometimes moonlights on TNT, dishing it with Sir Charles as well as he did from the power forward position.  Webber wore Nikes early in his career, but the *turrible* move to Dada may have cost him a spot in this new Nike ad campaign.

Chuck and the Glove are working together on Nike Basketball’s W.N.I.K.E. viral net ‘radio station’.  The idea is to push for outdoor ballin’ during the summer months and they’ve added to blacktop-geared releases like theAir Zoom Sharkalaid.  Enter the Nike Zoom LeBron Soldier III XDR.  Along with the new Ultimate Pure Grip rock, the Soldier III’s eXtra Durable Rubber makes it a perfect fit for your blacktop business.  W.N.I.K.E. is also pushing the Nike Dream Season, but no word yet on whether Kobe Bryant’s secondary shoe will see an XDR release.  via FRESHNESS

The Lakers

The Lakers, win I dont want to hear anything about the NBA until the draft. My team won its 15th championship of all time. Congrats to Kobe, Gasol, Lamar, Dfish, Bynum (Bum Ass), Luke Walton and the rest of the team. It was a team effort the whole playoffs and I forgot about Ariza, please comeback if we going to repeat we going need you one more time. A lot of rumors about Phil Jackson leaving, but I hope not we need one more, every team gets stronger every year and the way Denver did it this year it would be hard not to believe that it will happen again and Shaq dont got to the Cavs, save us all.
But Congrats one more time...
